Notebook Guidelines

  1. First and last name on front cover.
  2. Must be written in blue or black ink only—no colored pens or pencils. Cover errors with white-out.
  3. Set up as Cornell, or two-column notes. Must have a line dividing left and right sides of each page. Just folding is not acceptable.
  4. Table of contents listed before each chapter, with page numbers corresponding to each assignment as they appear in your notebook, not the textbook. Use the grade sheet for each chapter to complete your table of contents.
  5. Starting with the first “Think About It” of the chapter, all pages must be numbered—“Think About It” is page 1, etc.
  6. Each assignment must start on a new page of your notebook. For example, when you finish the “Digging Deeper” notes, the “Check Your Understanding” must begin, and be labeled, on a new page.
  7. Copy each question and answer it before moving on to the next question, as you do not know how much space you will need for the response. Leave a space between each question.
  8. All answers must restate the question and be written in complete sentences.
  9. Grade sheets must be attached to inside front cover. After the end of the chapter, you can cover the old grade sheet with a new one or put the new grade sheet on the inside of the back cover. NOTEBOOKS WITHOUT GRADE SHEETS WILL NOT BE SCORED.
  10. The activity number must be written on the top left side of each page, between the red line and the line you drew to separate the left and right sides of your notebook pages.
  11. Use your best handwriting. If I cannot read your answer, it is wrong.

See below for examples of how your notebooks should look. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in a loss of points.notebook_3.jpgnotebook_2.jpg
